Documentary Time: Tattoo

This little period piece (Tattoo) is a fascinating look at Tattooing in Britain in the 1970. I can find no more information about who made it and for whom so it's something of a mystery. It's well made (for the time) and looks at the history of tattooing in britain as well as a brief look at the budding body modification / piercing scene. It's a bit creepy for some reason and I think that's because this was before tattooing was a mainstream thing so it has a slightly illicit feel to some of the interviews. It also has footage of bare bums, willies & boobies so be warned.

Matt's Music Club: Nick Catchdubs - Icy Grape

If you like your 90's "choons" along with other great pop/electro from 2000 onward you'll like this, Nick Catchdubs has lovingly created a smashing mix of tunes that has had me fugging round the kitchen for the last half an hour or so and that can't be bad now can it?

Popadoodledandy. The Lost Vic & Bob Show

"Shown as part of Channel 4's Funny Fortnight season, Popadoodledandy is the near-legendary 'lost' pop show from Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.

In the traditional style of all the very best TV pop shows, it features performances from groups, its own dance troupe, interviews, video reviews, and pop star celebrity guest spots! But everything, of course, is sprinkled with glorious surreal Vic and Bob magic.

Made in late 1992Popadoodledandy was due to follow Big Night Out on C4, but then Vic and Bob transferred to BBC2, where they set off to make The Smell Of Reeves And MortimerPopadoodledandy then settled quietly into the archives, where it became their secret legendary show, spoken of, but never seen... Until now."

Daft Punk Released And Recovered

With Daft Punk's new Album No End set for a May release and news that it features collaboration from Nile Rogers there is hope that it will be a return to form after the disappointing Tron soundtrack. In memory of the good times I am reminded of one of my favourite Daft Punk tunes "Something About Us" and also one time collaborator Chilly Gonzales.

So I was pleased to say the least when I found the video below. I present Chilly Gonzales performing Something About Us. Please Enjoy.
